The magnificence of the Velho Mirante is something that visitors apprehend as soon as they arrive.
It is noticeable from a distance, as the building marks the landscape for those arriving in Pontinha.
The date of its construction is shrouded in some mystery, but we know exactly that this building is located in an area that would correspond to the old Quinta da Pontinha, existing since at least 1622.
It is said that by the elderly, the Velho Mirante was a stopping point for Malaposta.
