Velho Mirante was born out of an old dream: to create a simple, real and welcoming house where good Portuguese food was served with humility, dedication and respect for tradition.

Behind this house is a story made up of work, family and a passion for restaurants. Since the age of 16, experience has been built up, always with the desire to one day open a restaurant where every customer would feel good at the table – as if they were at home.

Velho Mirante’s Alentejo soul comes from its family roots. With an Alentejo father, a great passion for the Alentejo, its flavors, its bountiful table and its warm welcome was born.

This journey has never been made alone. He has the support of his father, his mother’s tips in the kitchen, his wife, his brother and a team who help bring this house to life every day.

At Velho Mirante, we want to bring the flavors of home out of the house. With humility, passion and the desire to keep learning, we welcome each customer with the desire to see them happy at our table.
